The Senior Social Media Manager

As a Senior Social Media Manager you are responsible to develop, implement and update the global, regional or local social media strategy for your client. You understand the culture and features of social platforms and advise the client on what’s the next move.

You will think big and develop strategic campaigns, deliver innovative, best-in-class social programs, create processes and set benchmarks to measure success. You have proven experience in the management of international campaigns that require to resonate at a local level.

You are serious about data and you don’t doubt about getting your hands into the social tool to find the learnings and insights for your campaign.

You will help the client in activating celebrities and influencers in participating in campaigns in new and innovative ways, while respecting the limitations of their agenda and contracts.

You understand the role of paid media and can advise on the best way to use it to amplify a campaign. You will not be required to setup and run advertising campaigns.

You oversee the content calendar and you are ultimately responsible that content gets published the right way at the right time for maximum impact. While you’re not required to write each of the captions and post yourself, you will brief and oversee the right team members to get this done.

You will be able to work fast, manage multiple priorities, demonstrate strong judgement and attention to detail, take ownership, and be a team player with an ability to work with multiple colleagues.

Furthermore you will be involved in briefing the creative teams for the creation of native social assets such as Instagram Stories, Instagram ads, augmented reality filters, Snapchat ads, TikToks, etc.

And finally, you have experience in managing and coaching junior colleagues in similar positions.

The Action

  • I create social media strategies for well-known brands

  • I come up with cool and innovative content ideas that are social-first. In addition, I know which people (such as a creative strategist or designer) I have to engage with to make them happen.
  • I explain campaign ideas to the client and I am able to answer their questions, even if they are a little technical on how things work on social.
  • I love Instagram and Snapchat and I regularly post.
  • TikTok? I’m addicted.
  • I’m not an influencer but I could be if I wanted to. Or maybe I am one already ;)
  • I have a knack for new technology.
  • I like change and fast switching. I get very unhappy if I have to do the same things all day.
  • I often know first what is going on in the world of social media.

    Furthermore, you are someone who:

    • Speaks native or fluent English

    • Preferably also speaks another language such as Dutch, Swedish, French or German (but not limited to those).
    • Has experience working with influencers and celebrities.
    • Is communicative and can quickly make clear to people what you are doing.
    • Has experience with shooting days (planning, briefing, output).
    • Has experience working with social analytics tools such as Sprinklr, Falcon, Social Bakers and/or Brandwatch (not limited to those).
    • Is strategic – looks beyond today and thinks three steps ahead.
    • Brings up-to-date social media strategies to life
    • Drives the brand social media approach through the right channels.
    • Proven ‘test and roll” mindset for experimentation in order to build learnings and apply what works for bigger future efforts.
